Overview

Cho Oyu (8201m) is the 6th highest mountain in the world lying at the border of China( Tibet) and Nepal west to the  Mt. Everest (8848m). Cho Oyu literally translates to Turquoise Goddess. The first attempt on Cho Oyu ascent which turned out to be successful happened in 1954 by Austrian expedition conquered it via the North-west ridge. Amazing Nepal Journey offers  from Tibet site with fully successful expedition.
Autumn is the best time of the year for Cho Oyu Expedition or any mountain expedition for that matter in the Himalayas. There are moderate technical sections and the objective dangers are close to non-existent. Its relatively easy access makes it an attractive climb for someone with limited time, as it can be attempted in roughly 6 weeks round trip. Base Camp is accessible by jeep and it is possible to reach Kathmandu  from Base Camp.
Because of it's ease of access, ABC is often crowded with a large number of expeditions.
It was the third such peak climbed, and the first climbed by light expedition and in Autumn. The mountain was first climbed on October 19, 1954 via the north-west ridge by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jöchler and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama of an Austrian expedition. Cho Oyu is sixth 8000 meters peak to be climbed, after Annapurna in June 1950, Mount Everest, Nanga Parbat and K2.

Full Board:
Amazing Nepal Journey Offers Full Board Service for Mountaineering Expeditions to all 8000m peaks. Our Full Board service means that we will provide a Trekking service, an in-Base camp service and High camp service executed by Climbing Guide. All our Full Board clients will have a personal Climbing Guide exclusively dedicated to the client for the duration of the expedition.
Our climbing Guide team will establish and secure climbing route in collaboration with other climbing teams participating on the route; Establish all high camps with camping equipment, provisions and oxygen and prepare high altitude food for client; assist his client on the route and ensure client safety and well being on the route through guiding and negotiating the route access priorities at pace and schedule determined by clients’ physical condition and preferred pace; Ensure total commitment to the client in case of emergency with clients’ safety and well being as overriding priority.
High camp service for Full Board Service clients will consist of provision of all equipment necessary to fix the route, all camping equipment, fuel and food for high camps as well as oxygen provision, including mask and regulator and latest model of Poisk oxygen, Summit system of Mask regulators in quantities specified in your climbing itinerary as per height of Expedition.

Full Board Service Cost Includes:
  • All arrival and departure transfer services to and from international airport with other necessary surface transportation as per itinerary by Amazing Nepal Journey .
  • Assistance at the international airport by Amazing Nepal Journey representative on arrival and departure.
  • 4 night request 3star to 5 star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu as per itinerary.
  • Truck for expedition equipment from Kathmandu-Kerung-Kathmandu.
  • Schedule flights from KTM-LHASA-KTM for Climbing members.
  • If you wish landmark from Kerung Jeep/ Bus transfer  with staffs
  • Chinese custom clearances at the border
  • Chinese Government Royalty for Cho-Oyu Expedition for group and climbing  Guide.
  • Chinese visa for climbing period, both Base Camp staff, Sherpa and group;

  • EPI gas and burners  for cooking food above base camp;
  • All wages, equipment, medical and accidental Insurances for cook, climbing Guide and base camp staff.
  • All necessary camping equipment's like camp furniture, kitchenware, dining tents, guest tents, kitchen tent, shower, toilet tents etc.
  • Per person 50kg baggage allowance during trekking-up and down carrying by Yak;
  • Truck will be provided at Kerung boarder -Chinese base camp and return Kerung for loads;
  • Yaks curry the loads from Chinese base camp to middle camp to advance base camp and return;
  • Required experienced, trained and Government Licensed climbing guide(s) during climbing period per person as per requirements.
  • First Aid medical kits for the group and the staff.
  • Satellite phone carrying by guide for communication and available for members with the cost of US$ 3 per minute call.
  • Appropriate food for high altitude and all climbing crew at base camp and above as required.
  • Emergency oxygen and mask regulator.
  • All necessary paper works, office Service charge and Government Taxes levied in Nepal
  • Complete pre-departure information, flight ticket reconfirmation and visa extension procedure services (if necessary)
